1. Overview
This website (`adurancastillo.com`) is a personal portfolio and developer workshops platform owned and operated by Antony Duran, an Aerospace Systems Engineer. We are committed to protecting user privacy and ensuring transparent handling of data. The site operates as a statically generated application, prioritizing local processing and minimal data footprint.
2. Data processing and collection
We only process personal data that is strictly necessary for the technical operation of the website, user interaction in workshops, and aggregate usage analytics. Below is a detailed breakdown of what data is collected and how it is processed:
- Performance and analytics (GTM and GA4): If enabled, we use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to track aggregate, anonymous site usage (e.g., page views, session duration, and general browser type). We have enabled IP anonymization to ensure your full IP address is never stored. You can opt-out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by blocking trackers via your browser privacy settings.
- Workshop progress (local storage): Your progress in guided workshops (including current step index, completed steps, and checklists) is saved 100% locally in your own browser's
localStoragedatabase. This progress data remains entirely on your device, is never transmitted to our servers or any third-party, and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser data or using browser developer tools. - Feedback and comments (Giscus): Comment sections on workshops are powered by Giscus, a third-party commenting system built on GitHub Discussions. To post a comment or report a workshop issue, you must authenticate using your GitHub account. Giscus will process your GitHub username, profile avatar, and comment text. This interaction is subject to GitHub's Privacy Statement.
3. Cookies and local identifiers
We do not set first-party marketing or tracking cookies. Google Analytics sets third-party cookies to identify unique user sessions anonymously. Giscus and GitHub may set cookies when you authenticate to submit feedback. You can configure your browser to reject cookies or delete them periodically.
4. Hosting and international data transfer
This website is hosted statically using GitHub Pages. GitHub servers are located in the United States. If you visit this website from outside the United States, please be aware that your IP address, browser headers, and other technical metadata required to establish a connection will be transmitted to and processed in the United States, subject to GitHub's Privacy Statement.
5. Your rights under EU law (GDPR)
If you are located within the European Economic Area (EEA), you possess specific rights regarding your personal information under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These rights include:
- Right of access: The right to request copies of your personal data.
- Right to rectification: The right to request correction of inaccurate data.
